West Midlands Air Conditioning

Service and Repair

If you’re based in the West Midlands it might not have occurred to you that you need the services of an air-conditioning company. After all, the British climate is rarely extremely hot or extremely cold. The Workplace (Health and Safety) Regulations 1992, however, lay down an obligation on employers to maintain a “reasonable” temperature in places of work such as banks, offices or warehouses. The Approved Code of Practice suggests that 16C should be taken as a minimum (13C if physical labour is involved). The upper end depends a lot on factors such as air-flow and radiant heat so is not defined but if your employees are complaining about being too hot you need to address the issue. Better working environments lead to better productivity and one of the most overlooked areas is the quality of air your employees breathe.

What Can Air-Conditioning Do?

Modern air-conditioning systems are a far cry from the old-fashioned chilled air units you might be thinking of. In fact, we often refer to them as HVAC – Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning – systems because they aren’t just for removing excess heat.

A modern system will work automatically based on the internal and external temperature adjusting the level of heating, cooling or ventilation required. They can even move excess heat from warm parts of the building to cooler ones. The humidity of the air is also carefully controlled. No more sticky summer afternoons or dry winter mornings.

Not just that but by circulating and filtering the air the system can remove air-borne pollutants resulting in cleaner and healthier air – sometimes cleaner and healthier than the air outside!

We will advise you on the system that suits you best so why not get in touch to discuss your requirements?

Qualified Engineers

All our engineers are fully qualified. MSE are D1 approved installers of Daikin systems and accredited installers for Mitsubishi Electrics.

They are FGAS registered and have CSCS, IPAF and PASMA. We ensure they all have up-to-date DBS (CRB) checks meaning they can work in schools or nurseries.

What Does That Mean?

  • FGAS is the set of regulations governing the chemicals used in air-conditioning systems. Our registration means we use and dispose of them safely.
  • CSCS is the Construction Skills Certification Scheme. It provides you with reassurance that our engineers have the necessary skills to perform your installation.
  • IPAF promotes safe use of power access systems – essential when working on your roof.
  • PASMA promotes the safe use of scaffolding towers (mobile access towers).
  • DBS is the Government’s Disclosure and Barring Service. They provide identity and background checks, previously known as CRB checks.
